Anybody who’s been around long enough in Tel-aviv knows the Turkish bourekas shop. it’s a small place located in the northern entrance to the Carmel market (coming from king george st.), on your right hand side.
The joint is tiny and it’s easy to miss it, so only if you’ve heard about this place you will go in, but once you tried this delicious bourekas you will always be back.
Made out of homemade puff pastry, either with Cheese filling (the classic) which includes Feta, Ricotta and cream or with potatoes, the Turkish bourekas is a unique experience.
You might think it’s a nice starter but in fact it’s a full meal, the Turkish bourekas is huge and with the option of egg, pickles and tomatoes is a full meal that you won’t be able to stop eating.
While you’re there, try out the Malabi as well, don’t skip the rose water, peanuts and coconut on top
