Venezuelan food is not popular in Tel-aviv because the community is fairly small, but the food is delicious and Tel-aviv people loves great food, especially when they can grab it like a pita and eat it while walking, you can see why the arepa’s stand became an instant hit in the Carmel market.

Arepa is basically a gluten free corn pita filled with all sort of goodies and you can find different kinds of fillings like meat that been cooked for many hours with spices, roasted chicken and even a Vegan version.

You can top any Arepa with cheese that will be grilled along with the Arepa on the plancha or eat it as is, you gotta love this crispy Venezuelan pita.
