Samarkand is a Bukharian restaurant in Jaffa serving the authentic cuisine of the Bukhara Jews as were preserved since they have immigrated to Israel about 50 years ago.
The restaurant is located on the border of the south side of Tel aviv and the northern neighborhoods of Jaffa. The place is pretty big, it can host events up to 150 people and secluded celebrations in a private room at the restaurant.
The menu has all the Bukharian cuisine classics with first course like Godjenje (oven baked bread with lamb), Manti (steamed dumpling with ground beef), Bilishi (ground beef in a puff pastry) and more.
On the main course section, don’t miss out on the Oshplau casserole which is a long-baked rice with beats of lamb.
